Off to London tomorrow! Will finally be able to visit the Imperial War Museum (which is, yes, very exciting for yours truly, thankyousomuch), but even better, meeting up with
almostlifesized and her friend in the afternoon to spend a pleasant afternoon squeeing around the Sherlock Holmes Museum at Baker Street. Then Monday brings
spacefall over for the DMU Slash Study Day, and to kindly initiate me into the mysteries of both Russian!Holmes and SH22. :-D
So, a very slashy/Holmesian few days beckon enticingly, and I am hopping about with eager anticipation. Loud huzzahs all round. :-D
Am going to try and get some sewing done during my days off, too: still have an utterly gigantic RAF greatcoat to wrestle with at some point, with the aim of converting it from 1953 RAF to 1812 French for the battle events this year: a prospect which, after reading
k_haldane's spendid Torchwood coat crack!fic, I've been viewing with no little dubious apprehension... ;-) I've got as far as cutting the buttons off (which have subsequently been attached to my baby, the marvellous mongrel forces coat [Brit infantry base, RAF buttons, Soviet patches and somehow some US sergeant's stripes seem to have sidled their way onto there too when I wasn't looking - though at least they're the right way up ;-) ], but no further. The enormity of the bugger has been a pain for ages (Height: 6'3", Chest: 40". I am 5'5" and have...err...no chest whatsoever), so it'll be nice to make it fit at last; though I'll miss having a coat you could crouch down inside, jam a stick under the collar and make an Instant Handy Tent out of.
Speaking of the French Napoleonic Army, I came across this t'other day on YouTube, which gave me a giggle:
Oui, it's a cheap gag, but it makes me laugh. ;-)
Tara, chaps!

Anyway, I was just popping in to say that I've uploaded TONS of pics from Eastbourne and the London ones are coming in a few minutes, if you wanted to take a look.
